CHICE
Chess where every piece rides a die.

How to play
  • Capture the enemy king to win. There is no check.
  • Each piece moves exactly the number on its die. No jumping, except knights.
  • Queens, rooks, bishops and kings capture the first enemy in a line within their die. Moving to an empty square still needs the exact number.
  • Knights capture only where their exact jump lands. Pawns capture 1 diagonal on any roll.
  • If a move would leave the board, the piece stops on the edge, but only onto an empty square. Knights never do this.
  • Knight: 1 = 1 diagonal, 2 = 2 diagonal, 3 = L (2+1), 4 = L (3+1), 5 = L (3+2), 6 = L (4+2).
  • Pawns roll 1–3 and move exactly N forward. A pawn on the last rank stays there.
  • At the start of your turn, your opponent's dice roll, so you always see their possible replies.
  • No legal move? Your turn is skipped automatically.
